Hi everyone,
This week I want you to learn about a special human rights class I teach here at Newcomers.
- Please visit the website to learn about the human rights class.
- When you are there, watch the videos on that website, using the links to Teacher Tube (the You tube links will be blocked). There is a video about the class, and six videos made by students in the class. All have Teacher Tube links.
- Open the book made by the students.
- Answer the questions below in Google Docs.

1.I feel that the film and book is very interesting . Because I see they work together and share ideas. I also know more about different countries’ history. It shows us that their countries feature.
ReplyDelete2.I interested in join into a class like that. Because I can communicate with other people, I prove my English and I can also learn how to use technology to create books.
3.If I could help change a problem in society, I would change racial equality. Although this world says no matter where you from, we are the same. But when you are in some other countries, people can not get same treatment. In some parts, they don’t have rights to do something. I think everyone must to treat with equal, no matter where they from. If they get alone with each other, the world would be better and better.

ReplyDeleteI felt sad and i cry while watching the film and i also felt the same way while reading the book because the student story was just wow. i didn't know that people had so much problems like that when they were in their country.

ReplyDeleteI felt so touching because I’m a immigrant too I had the same feeling as them before so it reminds me about myself when i was immigrated to America I felt so lonely.

Yes I am because it’s more interesting and convenience to learn so many new things in computers.

If i could help change a problem in society, I would change the racial discrimination because we are all mankind even we have different skin colors but million years ago we all had the same ancestor.
1. I think the book also the videos are interesting. I myself also an immigrant so these are common things to me.

3. If I could help change a problem in society, I would change the racial discrimination because to me I think this is the worst thing ever for a immigrant people in a new country. So I would help to stop racial discrimination so that no one ever gets discriminated.

1.I really liked the film, it almost made me cry; I think that we are all the same, we just have to show to Americans that we didn’t came here to make the country worst, just to be good people in the future.

3.If I could help change a problem in society, I would change how people are separate by social economy, because I think that those are things that made our world worst; if everybody is together, it will be easy to make big and good changes in our countries. We have to understand that everybody is the same, no matter how they color are, how much money they have, what language they speak or what from which part of the world they are.
1. I really like the book and the film because i can see many different stories about many people and many cultures, also is interesting to know about their lives and the problems in their countries. It makes me think about my life too. It's nice to share thosem stories and work as a group.

If I could help change a problem in my society, I would change discrimination. people discriminate other people without knowing them, just because of their culture, language, physical appearance, religion, etc. What make this life interesting is the differences between us. I think we all should learn to accept us by who we are, no based in stereotypes. I definitely would change discrimination because I think this don’t let us live in peace.

ReplyDeleteI loved the way they created a film to show the obstacles that our students had when they immigrated to this country or before immigrating to this country because it can be one be one of the example or prove to show that we should change the way any of the countries behave with the immigrants which will develop the feeling of equality and regard this world as our own home.
2.Are you interested in participating in a class like this next year? Why?
I would love to join this class which will help you to be more confident and have fun in sharing our feelings with whole world but I cannot as i have to change the school this year.

1. How do you feel about the film and book? Why?
I felt very sad at the beginning because many of my partners in the school had to suffer difficult problems in their lives, also it was hard for them to adapt to this country with a new language, new food, new people, it was a new beginning for them but they overcome all this problems and now they are studying for a good future.
2. Are you interested in participating in a class like this next year? Why?
No, because we have ti share our personal feelings, also it requires more time that usual and we don't have enough time.
3. If I could help change a problem in society, I would change the discrimination because first of all my family immigrated from another country too so that makes me an immigrant, also I am not the only immigrant in this society, most of the people that we see walking on the streets are immigrants and most of them suffer from discrimination. I want to change this because most of persons who come here want to work, to make money, to help their families but they are treated like slaves, they suffer physical abuse and are offended, and this country is supposed to be a free country, everybody have the same rights but the Americans don’t believe that, they want to take us out with any method from their country.

If I could help change a problem in society, I would change that everyone could get a good life ,we don’t need worry about money.This is important because there are many people can’t go to school studying ,you know why? because they don’t have enough money .When I watched the film and book , I feel very happy because I learn many things from different countries.I’m interested in participating in a class like this next year.because I think it’s awfully fun and I can make many nice friends through this class.It’s not all reasons,I also think I can know my classmates more deepy.

ReplyDelete2.I would like to participate in a class like this next year. It is really good opportunity for us,especially to ESL student,it could help us to improve our English communicate skill.Otherwise,I could study how to make a book.
3.If I could help change a problem in society, I would ask everyone to help the people in difficult. For example,people with disable, people who are poor, people who got nobody to care with.
All of them need more help than anyone else, also, people should respect and treat them equally.

Well I think that the videos were so touching and I felt sad because I see that many of our classmates had have a very difficult life here in the U.S but even though all ,they have overcome all those obstacles to have a better life.

I would like to participate in this class because I see that this class is very helpful and you also can share your ideas with other people but I can’t because I’m a senior and I would not be here next year.

If I could help change a problem in my society, I would change discrimination, because there are a lot of people in here that discriminate other people specially the immigrant people. Sure, I see that each student both find pleasure in it .Everyone give an account of their immigration tale.That songs good.
I would change racial equality problem. Because this problem still exists inn some areas .In my word no matter what is your color,where you from,everyone should be equal.V

2. Yeah, for sure. Because I like to share my experiences and my stories with others to know about the difference between our daily lives and how can we learn from others’ past and I want to share emotions with them
