    1. 1.What do Dadi and Shabanu encounter when they attempt to bury Grandfather? What appears to be lacking in the personalities of Sulaiman and the villagers in general?

      - Dadi found shelter among the herd and is barely alive. The family rushes him inside. He softly insists on traveling to Derawar, where he will be buried as a soldier.

2.What do Shabanu and Phulan find while they are out hunting for sito?

      - Phulan and Shabanu wander off in search of a sito, a desert plant with succulent, watery roots. At the top of a dune, they catch site of a turban tied to the top of a tall shrub. Phulan is frightened: travelers who are lost or thirsty tie their turbans to the tops of trees in hopes that someone will see the turban and bring water.

3.What do Dadi’s actions suggest about his character and beliefs?

      - That women should be protected and not used as tools for personal satisfaction , there are many people that just want to make money for fun while they’re actually damaging something else or someone in one way or the other.
      - Shabanu thinks about what a bad situation on which we just got in , now how would we get out from those hunters . “ Oh , I could kill her. What is she thinking?” on page 154.
      - Shabanu is angry at Phulan because she could be taken by Nazir Mohammad for his whole idea about making money by giving womens to men who use them .

What do Dadi and Shabanu encounter when they attempt to bury Grandfather? What appears to be lacking in the personalities of Sulaiman and the villagers in general?
Dadi washes his thin and wasted body with the water, chanting prayers for the head. And Shabanu bandaged that toe for him and search for a burial place. Sulaiman does not speak that is shows that not respectful and the villagers are unfriendly and poor wells. Hamir’s family is not expecting them for another month and they decide stay in Derawar.

What do Shabanu and Phulan find while they are out hunting for sito? What do Dadi’s actions suggest about his character and beliefs?
They dray water at the well, Xhush Dil pulls off Puhlan;s chadr and waves it, and she feels happiness.Dadi was worry about the land. If the land is fertile, Nazir Mohammad requires that get it. If it is not, he does not want it. He tries to give the crops as the money in payment. He want it that is going to become the rich and he can get many money.
A dilemma is any situation requiring a choice between equal—often equally unpleasant—alternatives. Explain Shabanu’s dilemma when she and Phulan meet Nazir Mohammad and his hunters. Shabanu’s choosing to save her sister from rape leads to the story’s climax. On p.154, why is Shabanu angry at her sister?
Shabnu understands that they are not good people, they treat the woman like the slave and she knows that they see Phulan, they will want her. The Dadi and Hamir won’t bear for this thing, she’s certain. Shabanu angry at her sister because of her beautiful figure and nice face. He wants her sister, then he gives her cash and sends her back to her family after he is finished with her, she was sacrifice.

Shabanu and Phulan trapped by Nazir Mohammad and his hunters, she can not run by herself, but Phulan is not so agile, if they run together, they may get caught by Nazir Mohammad again. Shabanu is angry at her sister because they get caught by Nazir Mohammad, but Phulan didn’t notice they are dangerous, so Shabanu feel angry about that.

-They are thirsty, the monsoon hasn’t come yet so they were looking for sito, a plant where they could get sweetwater. They don’t want to drink salty water if they have a choice. The Sulaiman and the villagers where they ran into aren’t nice at all.
    - “After we have rested, Phulan and I walk out ahead of the others looking for sito, a fragrant grass with roots that run deep in the sand and are sweet with water.” p. 124
-This shows that Dadi and shabanu encounter drought, which is why they had a hard time looking for sito.

What do Shabanu and Phulan find while they are out hunting for sito? What do Dadi’s actions suggest about his character and beliefs?

When the man is finished with her, he gives her cash and sends her back to her family.” This quotes shows about Nazir Mohammed.

Dadi loves Shabanu and Phulan, he can’t let anything happen to them while he’s alive.
