It is 122 feet long and 59 feet wide. It can fit approximately 150 skaters at a time.

It is used as a place that attracted people to visit in Winter,especially Christmas Holidays.

1. Grand Central Depot was build in order to bring trains from New York Central and Hudson River Railroad, the New York and Harlem Railroad, and the New York and New Heaven Railroad at one large station. The station was opened on October 17, 1871.

He knew she was usually hanging up there and skating, because he used to skate there when he was young, too. But he forgot that it was Sunday.He went there to see the lake as well, because he wanted to find out for himself what happens with the ducks when it’s winter. Do they fly away helpless or do they store them in another place? He was curious about that because they were symbolic for him. He compared them to him because he was alone, with no friends and had been expelled from school. That event is mentioned on page118-121 in chapter 16.

Albert Smith Bickmore, one-time student of Harvard zoologist Louis Agassiz, is successful in his proposal to create a natural history museum in New York City.The Governor of New York, John Thompson Hoffman, signs a bill officially creating the American Museum of Natural History.
